The VBookcase stands out from other bookshelves with its versatility and distinctive features. Designed to be used in various forms, such as double, triple, and quadruple, it offers the possibility of creating alternative designs by increasing the number of shelves and vertical parts. The shelves, fixed with connection elements, are easily assembled by passing the vertical carrying parts into the notched sections.
In terms of production, the VBookcase utilizes melamine coated Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), a material that is both reusable and recyclable. The parts are connected by attaching treenails or minifix fitting elements to the holes at the heads of the angled shelves. The notched parts of the vertical carrying pieces are then inserted, eliminating the need for additional connection elements.
The technical specifications of the VBookcase include dimensions of 28x144.4x1.8 cm for the vertical carrying parts and 25x34x1.8 cm for the angled shelves. Each binary VBookcase can hold up to 645 books with a maximum weight of 25 kg. When assembled, the dimensions of the binary VBookcase are 118 cm (width) x 32 cm (depth) x 144.4 cm (height). The design allows for easy transportation, with multiple binary VBookcases fitting into a 20 cubic foot container.
The VBookcase offers not only ample storage space but also an aesthetically pleasing appearance. It is suitable for both homes and offices, adding a touch of elegance to any space. The design process for the VBookcase began in June 2015 in Ankara, Turkey, and it has since garnered recognition and acclaim.
One of the main challenges in creating the VBookcase was deviating from traditional flat shelf designs. Instead, the angled shelves in a zigzag shape provide a unique storage solution, allowing books to be displayed in a slanted position. This innovative approach adds a dynamic element to the design, making it a standout piece.
With its versatility, practicality, and striking aesthetic, the VBookcase is a testament to Kemal Yıldırım's creativity and innovation. Whether used as a single unit or combined to form larger configurations, this bookshelf is sure to captivate and inspire.
